Fly around the World ..... ( 1924 )

Between April 6 and September 28, 1924, the first flight around the world was made. On May 26, 1924, four Douglas DWC cruisers, each carrying two men, started the flight from Seattle, Washington. Only two of the planes completed the trip 175 days later. They flew 26,345 miles and the average speed was 72 miles per hour. That's just a little faster than a car driving on the highway.
