Computer Skills Course for Academic Achievement
Your child will not receive sufficient basic training for computer skills in school.
This is a fact!
Traditional schools and colleges have simply not caught up with the information age.
Reservations are now being accepted for a Computer Skills Course for Academic Achievement at PV on the Net. This call will focus on the most important basic computer skills for students.
Every student should have a level of proficiency in personal computer skills to excel in school and maintain competitiveness in class. This course covers Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel and computer use.
Over the past 15 years in providing training to students, we have found that fewer than five percent of the students have any knowledge of these three extremely important programs.
There are no prerequisites or requirements for this course. Students will learn to use these programs to quickly, efficiently and professionally complete their homework assignments.
Seats are limited and will be made available on a first come first served basis.

Introduction to digital animation. Maya is used by the pros - WETA, Disney, Dreamworks, and you see it used in box office hits such as Lord of the Rings, Spiderman, and others. This is the perfect class for the budding animator. Skills learned in this class can apply to game design.

Before you go any farther - you should know that PVNET is a non-profit organization which offers thousands of hours of free class time each year to the residents of Rancho Palos Verdes, and we provide thousands of hours of free computer internship programs to students in the Palos Verdes Unified School Disctrict. Some of our programs have a fee for training which compares from 1/10 to 1/2 of the price as offered elsewhere. Some of our programs are not available anywhere in the country - only here. We sincerely thank the RPV City Council for allowing PVNET to be located at City Hall. these past 11 years because together we've made local history, helped many lives, and improved the quality of life on this Peninsula.

Throw away your tired old pencil, eraser, chalk, and brush and come to our Digital Sculpting class using Mudbox and a Digital Stylus. Characters in Lord of the Rings,f the Rings, King Kong, and many more were created with Mudbox. As you can imagine, the possibilities are endless at PVNET. | Our Introduction to Animation class will give you the foundation to take our more advanced classes which are taught by industry professionals! We teach you using Maya - the same software used by Disney, Weta, Dreamworks, and other top names. We have the only course available in the Southbay open to youth starting at age 13 and older as well as adults, and because we are a non-profit center, our prices are a fraction of the cost charged elsewhere.
