How do I report a pothole, missing sign, or other street maintenance issue?

Please report potholes and missing signs to the Maintenance Foreman at (310) 378-0383 extension 2227. Other questions regarding street maintenance will be answered by the engineering staff at extension 2217.

How do I report a dead animal on the roadway so it can be removed?

Please report dead animals to the Police Department at (310) 378-4211.

How do I arrange for a public tree to be trimmed?

The City trims the public street trees on a schedule that varies based on the type of tree.  Some trees receive trimming every year, while others receive trimming up to every five years or longer.  The tree trimming schedule is often published in the City newsletter.  Trimming is only done for the safety of the tree and the safety of the public, and not for view enhancement or to shape a tree.  If you believe there is a safety issue with a tree, please call the Streets and Parks Department to arrange for unscheduled trimming at (310) 378-0383 ext. 2227.

What do I do if rainwater is flooding the street or coming from the street causing flooding on my property?

If the street is flooding (due to a blocked storm drain for example),  call the City Public Works Department or the City Streets and Parks Department at (310) 378-0383 to report it.  If outside normal working hours, call the non-emergency Police Dispatch number at (310) 378-4211

If rainwater is coming from the street and causing flooding on your property, you can temporarily reroute rainwater away from your property by placing sandbags in front of your driveway approach if water is entering there.  Empty sandbags and sand can be obtained at Home Depot, Thompson’s Building Materials, etc.
