Subject: Volunteer Trail Watch Program
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy (PVPLC) is recruiting volunteers to participate in a new Volunteer Trail Watch Program in the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve. Hikers, mountain bikers, and equestrians interested in helping monitor the Preserve and providing information to the public are needed!
Volunteers are asked to commit 4 hours each month, and training for this exciting volunteer opportunity will be provided by the PVPLC, City of Rancho Palos Verdes, and Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority Rangers on June 29th, July 13th, and July 20th. A back-up training day will be offered August 10th in case any of the earlier dates are canceled due to ranger unavailability during this fire season, or for optional training.
Please contact Volunteer Coordinator Barbara Ailor for an application or additional information at Click Here for Email.
Thank you, City of Rancho Palos Verdes Recreation and Parks Department

Subject: Construction Work at City Hall Overflow Parking Lot Update
Construction activity will continue this week in the overflow parking lot at City Hall. Due to longer than anticipated time needed by the contractor to mobilize the equipment and prepare the stockpiled material, the crushing of the material will continue through Friday, June 21st. This process will produce gravel to be used to cover the overflow parking lot and this crushing operation will be performed during business hours only. The crushed material will then be spread over this parking lot, which should take no more than a few days, allowing time for preparation of the parking lot before the City’s annual July 4th event. The noise created from the crushing equipment is comparable to the pavement grinders that are used on the City’s streets during the resurfacing projects. A dust-suppression system using water will also be used to keep the dust down during the crushing process. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Public Works Department at 310-544-5252.
