SUBJECT: CITY COUNCIL ASSIGNMENT TO THE SOUTH BAY CITIES COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS

RECOMMENDATION

Select a new City Council delegate to the South Bay Cities Council of Governments.

DISCUSSION

On January 16, 2007, the Mayor appointed Councilman Wolowicz to serve as the Council’s delegate to the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG). On February 1, 2007, Councilman Wolowicz submitted a letter resigning from the appointment (see attached). Upon receiving notification of the vacancy from the City, SBCCOG Executive Director Jacki Bacharach called staff to underscore the importance of having a City delegate to this regional organization. Staff has agendized the matter to provide the Mayor with the opportunity to solicit and assign a new Council delegate to the SBCCOG.
