Pursuant to the City’s Development Code, certain development applications are reviewed and decided upon by the City’s Planning Commission.  The Planning Commission is made up of 7 city residents appointed by the City Council for staggered 2 or 4 year terms. The Planning Commission meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the Hesse Park Community Room, 29301 Hawthorne Blvd.  If you wish to automatically receive agendas of future Planning Commission meetings via email, click here to subscribe to the appropriate listserve group. 

If you have questions or comments on a pending application, or other matter that is proposed to be heard by the Planning Commission, you may submit a written letter, fax or e-mail message to pc@rpv.com. There is no preference or difference in effectiveness with regards to typed letters or e-mail messages.  Comments submitted prior to 12:00 Noon on the Tuesday one week before the scheduled Planning Commission meeting will be included with the Staff Report (for agenda items) or with the agenda packet (for non-agenda items), which the Commissioners receive on the Wednesday before the scheduled meeting. This provides the Commissioners with the most opportunity to review the comments before the public hearing discussion. Written comments or e-mail messages submitted to the Department after 12:00 Noon on the Tuesday before the meeting will be distributed to the Planning Commission at the meeting.  Written or pictorial evidence distributed to the Planning Commission at the meeting may not be effective, as the Commission may not have enough time to absorb its content.
