Who
We Are
CHOA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit mutual benefit corporation, whose mission is to provide a forum for its members to focus on issues that are important to the City and our members as well as its members and to speak with one voice when influencing is appropriate. CHOA has about fifty-five members, representing over 6500 residents of Rancho Palos Verdes. |

What We Do
- Provide a nonpartisan forum for meeting, discussing, studying, educating and resolving mutual problems.
- Use the combined strength of the organization to achieve mutually agreed on proactive solutions to relevant issues.
- Initiate activities that promote an informed electorate and citizen involvement in local government.
- Arrange for CHOA representation before approved government entities to make our collective views and opinions known.
- Strive to proactively promote, protect, and preserve our valuable and desirable environment, aesthetic qualities, and natural features of the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
- Educate and support members in the value and importance of being involved in homeowners associations and their activities.

How
We Do It
- Managed by a seven-member Board of Directors elected by a majority of CHOA members.
- Hold five or six meetings a year including special meetings such as RPV City Council candidate forums to further objectives of CHOA.
- Take on issues that are relevant to a majority of the members.
- Create committees as necessary to accomplish our objectives.

Who
Can Join
- Members – Common Interest Developments (condominiums, town-homes, and planned unit developments) and voluntary HOAs located in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes.
- Member-at-Large – An individual who resides in Rancho Palos Verdes where there is no organized common interest development.
- All Members must be approved by the CHOA Board of Directors and have paid Annual dues – currently $60.

Where
and When We Meet
- Hesse Park in the Fireside Room at 7:00 PM [map]
- The third Wednesday of February, April, June, September, and November. Annual Meeting held in April to elect officers; other special meetings as necessary such as the RPV City Council Candidates Forum.
