Weekly Activity Report, October 13 - October 19, 1996

CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes included one armed robbery, one strong-armed robbery, two residential burglaries, three vehicle burglaries, one other structure burglary, two grand thefts, auto, three grand thefts and one act of vandalism.

ARRESTS

Weapons Laws - 1 Robbery - 1

October 13

Vehicle Burglary (daytime)- Person (s) unknown stole a CD player and CD's from a car in the 3200 block of Paseo Del Mar. Entry was gained by smashing a window.

Vehicle Burglary (daytime)- Person (s) unknown smashed the window of a car in the 3200 block of Paseo Del Mar and ransacked the interior.

Grand Theft (daytime)- A pager, toolbox, clothing and a cellular phone were stolen from a car in the 3200 block of Paseo Del Mar. Entry was made through an open sunroof.

October 14

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime)- A male suspect was arrested for driving a stolen car in the 26300 block of Silver Spur Road.

Other Structure Burglary (nighttime)- A woman's purse, A CD player and CD's were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in an open garage in the 26700 block of Shorewood Drive.

Residential Burglary (nighttime)- Person (s) unknown stole jewelry from a home in the 27500 block of Larchbluff Drive. Entry was gained by cutting the screen of a sliding glass door.

October 15

Grand Theft - Person (s) unknown stole equipment and merchandise from a flower shop in the 28700 block of Western Avenue. There was no sign of forced entry.

October 17

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime)- A male suspect was arrested for driving a stolen car in the 3200 block of Palos Verdes Drive South.

October 18

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime)- Person (s) unknown stole a car stereo system from a car in the 7400 block of Via Lorado. Entry was gained by smashing a window.

Residential Burglary (daytime)- A male suspect known to the victim stole a television and a heater from a home in the 27600 block of Fond Du Lac.

Strong-armed Robbery (nighttime)- Two male suspects forcibly took two skateboards from two male victims on Lorraine Road.

October 19

Grand Theft - Person (s) unknown stole a bicycle from the porch of a home in the 30900 block of Rue De La Pierre.

Armed Robbery (nighttime)- Two male suspects simulated a gun and took U.S. currency and food from a male victim in the 30400 block of Rhone Drive.
