CRIME SUMMARY
Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes
included two strong-armed robberies, one commercial burglary, one
residential burglary, one attempted residential burglary, one grand
theft, auto, one attempted grand theft, auto, one grand theft, one
petty theft, one theft of U.S. mail, one act of arson and four acts of
vandalism.

October 6
Attempted Residential Burglary (daytime)- Person (s) unknown attempted
to pry open a window of a home in the 6500 block
of Via Baron.
Arson (nighttime)- Person (s) unknown set a car on fire at Palos Verdes
Drive East and Palos Verdes Drive South.
October 9
Residential Burglary (daytime)- Electronic equipment and a wallet were
stolen from a home in the 27700 block of Hawthorne Boulevard. Entry
was gained by forcing open a sliding glass window.
October 11
Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime)- A 1990 Chevrolet Prism was stolen from
the 27800 block of Avenida Cuaderno.
Strong-armed Robbery (daytime)- A male suspect was arrested after being
physically restrained by a store manager in the 28500 block of Western
Avenue. The suspect was attempting to exit the store with stolen items
under his clothing.
Strong-armed Robbery (daytime)- Three male suspects forced their way
into a home in the 6400 block of Chartres Drive and tied up a female
victim. Two watches and a CD player were taken.
October 12
Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime)- Unknown suspect (s) damaged
the steering column of a car in the 28700 block of Mount Vancouver
Court, in an attempt to steal the vehicle.
Grand Theft (nighttime)- Person (s) unknown stole U.S. currency from a
wallet in a theater in the 28900 block of Western
Avenue.
Commercial Burglary (nighttime)- Person (s) unknown cut a hole in a
wall and entered a business in the 28900 block of Western Avenue. It
was unknown at the time of this report if anything
was stolen.
