Weekly Activity Report, September 23 - September 29, 1996

CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes

included one attempted commercial burglary, two residential burglaries,

three vehicle burglaries, one other structure burglary and two petty

thefts.

ARRESTS

Drunk Driving - 1 Vehicle Laws - 1

September 25

Residential Burglary (nighttime)- Person (s) unknown stole a camera

from a house in the 6500 block Certa Drive. Entry was gained through

an open window.

Other Structure Burglary (daytime)- Person (s) unknown stole a bicycle

from an open garage in the 2100 block of Crestwood Drive.

September 26

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime)- A television and U.S. coins were stolen

from a car in the 27500 block of Fawnskin Drive. Entry was gained by

breaking a window.

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime)- Person (s) unknown stole car stereo from

a car in the 27000 block Silvermoon Lane. There was no sign of forced

entry.

Attempted Commercial Burglary (daytime)- Person (s) unknown attempted

to pry open a window of a business in the 29900 block of Hawthorne

Boulevard.

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime)- A cellular phone and a duffel bag were

stolen from a car in the 27699 block of Longhill Drive. Entry was

gained by forcing the lock open.

September 27

Residential burglary (daytime)- Person (s) unknown stole electronic

equipment from a home in the 2000 block of Avenida Aprenda. Entry was

gained by drilling a hole in a sliding glass door and removing the pin.

Mail theft continues to be a problem. Be cautious when placing

mail at the curb and promptly remove mail from mailboxes.

Keep a watchful eye for strangers in the neighborhood and call

the sheriff's office upon suspicion. Know your Neighborhood
