Weekly Activity Report, July 29 - August 4, 1996

CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes

included one attempted armed robbery, five residential burglaries, one

felonious assault, two grand thefts, auto, five petty thefts and two

acts of vandalism.

July 29

Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown entered a home in the 6700

block of Alta Vista through an open sliding glass door and stole stereo

equipment.

Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown shattered a window of a home

in the 28700 block of Mt. Palomar Place. The suspect(s) were scared

off when the alarm sounded and nothing was taken.

Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown entered a home in the 28700

block of Mt. Palomar Place and stole a necklace. Entry was gained by

shattering a window.

July 30

Attempted Armed Robbery - A male suspect armed with a handgun and two

accomplices attempted to take money from a male victim at the ATM

machine of a bank in the 27400 block of Hawthorne Boulevard. The victim

yelled for "police" and the suspects fled.

July 31

Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown broke a window pane of a door

and entered a home in the 5700 block of Wycliff Drive. The suspect(s)

ransacked the house and it was unknown what was stolen at the time of

this report.

August 1

Grand Theft Auto - A 1986 Ford pickup was stolen from the 2000 block of

Ave Feliciano.

Grand Theft Auto - A 1986 Subaru was stolen from the 28000 block of

Calzada Drive.

August 3

Felonious Assault - A male subject was detained after hitting a female

victim on the hand with a metal rod in the 28600 block of Vista Madera.

August 4

Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown entered a residence in the

6500 block of Eddinghill Drive and stole CD player. Entry was gained

through a bathroom window.

mail at the curb and promptly remove mail from mailboxes.

Keep a watchful eye for strangers in the neighborhood and call

the sheriff's office upon suspicion. Know your Neighborhood
