Weekly Activity Report, July 15 - July 21, 1996

CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes

included one armed robbery, one residential burglary, one attempted

residential burglary. six vehicle burglaries, one felonious assault,

two grand thefts, three petty thefts, and five acts of vandalism.

ARRESTS

Narcotics Laws - 1 Vehicle Laws - 1

July 15

Grand Theft - A watch was stolen from a residence in the 30000 block of

Avenida Esplendida by person(s) unknown. There was no sign of forced

entry.

Grand Theft - Jewelry was stolen from an apartment in the 6700 block of

Los Verdes Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

Vehicle Burglary - Person(s) unknown stole a cellular phone, golf

clubs, and a sports bag from a car parked in a parking structure in the

6500 block of Beachview Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

Attempted Residential Burglary - The steel security door of a townhouse

in the 28500 block of Bearhaven Court was broken by person(s) unknown

in an attempted burglary.

July 16

Felonious Assault - A male victim was assaulted by two males on the

cliffs assaulted near Seagate Drive.

Residential Burglary - A bicycle and a surfboard were stolen from a

garage in the 30100 block of Via Rivera. There was no sign of forced

entry.

July 17

Vehicle Burglary - The driver's side window was smashed to gain entry

to a car parked in a driveway in the 30000 block of Avenida de Calma.

A cellular phone was stolen by person(s) unknown.



July 18

Vehicle Burglary - Electronic equipment was stolen from a car parked in

the 4300 block of Exultant Drive by person(s) unknown. The driver's

side window was broken in the burglary.

Vehicle Burglary - Person(s) unknown smashed a window to gain entrance

to a car parked in the 4300 block of Exultant Drive and stole compact

discs.

Vehicle Burglary - Compact discs, rollerblades, and sports equipment

were stolen from a van parked in the 30000 block of Via Victoria.

Person(s) unknown broke a window to gain entrance.

Vehicle Burglary - Person(s) unknown broke the driver's side window to

gain entry to a car parked in the 30000 block of Via Rivera. Stereo

equipment was stolen.

Armed Robbery - An employee of a restaurant in the 28300 block of

Western Avenue was held at knife point by a male suspect who demanded

money. The employee gave U.S. currency to the suspect.

mail at the curb and promptly remove mail from mailboxes.

Keep a watchful eye for strangers in the neighborhood and call

the sheriff's office upon suspicion. Know your Neighborhood
