CRIME SUMMARY
Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes
included two commercial burglaries, five residential burglaries, two
vehicle burglaries, one other structure burglary, one felonious
assault, five grand thefts, one petty theft, two thefts of U.S. Mail,
and six acts of vandalism.
ARRESTS
Narcotics Laws - 2, Burglary - 1
July 8
Other Structure Burglary - A man's bicycle was stolen from a garage in
the 7300 block of Via Collado by person(s) unknown. There was no sign
of forced entry.
Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown entered a garage and residence
in the 30300 block of Cartier Drive. There was no sign of forced
entry.
Residential Burglary - A purse, U.S. currency, and credit cards were
stolen from a residence in the 30900 block of Rue de la Pierre by
person(s) unknown. There was no indication of forced
entry.
Commercial Burglary - Person(s) unknown cut the lock from an outside
refrigerator at a business in the 31200 block of Palos Verdes Drive
West and stole cases of food.
Grand Theft - A handgun, carrying case, and ammunition were stolen from
a residence in the 30300 block of Ganado Drive.
July 9
Commercial Burglary - A glass door was smashed by person(s) unknown to
afford entry to an office in the 7000 block of Los Verdes Drive. A
television set and VCR were stolen.
Residential Burglary - A bicycle, speakers, luggage, and other personal
items were stolen from a garage in the 30200 block of Via Rivera by
person(s) unknown. There was no sign of forced entry.
Residential Burglary - U.S. currency and jewelry were stolen from
a
residence on Oceanaire Drive. An audible burglar alarm alerted
deputies, who arrested a male suspect.
July 11
Felonious Assault - The driver of a truck rammed another car on
Hawthorne Boulevard at Blackhorse Dr., after the driver of the car
inadvertently cut off the truck.
July 12
Grand Theft - Exercise equipment and a paper shredder were stolen from
the patio of a residence in the 30700 block of Tarapaca Road by
person(s) unknown.
Grand Theft - A purse containing U.S. currency, credit cards, and
personal items was stolen from a shopping cart in the 30000 block of
Hawthorne Boulevard while the owner was bending over
her trunk.
July 13
Residential Burglary - A television set and a VCR were stolen from a
residence in the 2000 block of Macarthur Street by person(s) unknown.
There were no signs of forced entry.
Vehicle Burglary - Person(s) unknown shattered the windshield and
driver's window of a car parked in the 3800 block of Palos Verdes Drive
East and stole a camera and binoculars.
July 14
Grand Theft - Jewelry was stolen by person(s) unknown from an
apartment in the 6500 block of Oceancrest Drive. There was no
indication of forced entry.
Vehicle Burglary - The driver's window was broken to provide entry to a
car parked in a parking garage in the 32600 block of Seagate Drive.
Person(s) unknown ransacked the car.
Grand Theft - A camera was stolen from a table by person(s) unknown
during a wedding in the 7000 block of Los Verdes
Drive.
