CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the city of Rancho Palos Verdes

included one attempted residential burglary, four vehicle burglaries,

one other structure burglary, four grand thefts, auto, and three grand

thefts.

ARRESTS

Weapon Laws - 1 Felonious Assault - 1

April 29

Grand Theft, Auto - A 1989 Volvo was stolen from a locked garage in the

29700 block of Stonecrest Road. Entry was gained through a pet door.

April 30

Attempted Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown cut a screen and

broke a window in an attempt to enter a residence in the 3500 block of

Vigilance Drive.

Vehicle Burglary - Personal items were stolen from a locked car parked

in the street in the 30900 block of Via Rivera by person(s) unknown.

There was no sign of forced entry.

May 1

Vehicle Burglary - Person(s) unknown stole a computer and software

from a car parked in the driveway of a residence in the 27100 block of

Indian Peak Road. Entry was gained by shattering a window.

May 2

Vehicle Burglary - Car radio speakers and various compact discs were

stolen by person(s) unknown from a locked car in a parking garage in

the 5900 block of Armaga Springs Road. The driver's side window was

broken in the burglary.

Grand Theft, Auto - A 1983 Jeep was stolen from curbside in the 26900

block of Fond Du Lac Road.

Other Structure Burglary - A mountain bike was stolen from a garage in

the 6800 block of Crest Road by person(s) unknown. There was no

evidence of forced entry.

Grand Theft - A hand cart and golf bag containing a full set of clubs,

as well as credit cards and U.S. currency, were stolen from the bag

rack at Los Verdes Golf Club by unknown suspect(s).

Vehicle Burglary - Person(s) unknown stole a car stereo, eyeglasses,

and a wallet from a car parked in the driveway of a residence in the

30700 block of Ganado Drive. Entry was made by smashing a window.

May 3

Grand Theft - A cellular phone and battery charger were stolen by

unknown suspects from an unlocked car parked in the Terrace Shopping

Center parking lot.

Grand Theft, Auto - A Chevrolet Suburban was stolen from the street in

front of a residence in the 1300 block of Mt. Rainier Road.

May 4

Grand Theft - Person(s) unknown removed all four tires and rims from a

car parked in the street in the 5900 block of Flambeau Road. The car

had been placed on four cinder blocks.

Grand Theft, Auto - A Volkswagon Rabbit which had broken down was left

by its owner in the 27100 block of Silver Spur Road. The locked

vehicle was then stolen by person(s) unknown.

Mail theft continues to be a problem. Be cautious when placing

mail at the curb and promptly remove mail from mailboxes. Keep

a watchful eye for strangers in the neighborhood and call the

sheriff's office upon suspicion. Know your Neighborhood Watch

this vital volunteer program. They will have Gail Lorenzen or your

local person contact you.
