CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included one armed robbery, one commercial burglary,

four residential burglaries, four vehicle burglaries, one

grand theft, auto, four grand thefts, one attempted petty

theft, and five acts of vandalism.

October 19

 

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window

of a car in a parking lot in the 30300 block of Hawthorne

Boulevard and stole a backpack.

 

Residential Burglary (evening) - Person(s) unknown cut a

screen and entered an unlocked sliding glass door of a home

in the 29200 block of Palos Verdes Drive East. Nothing

appeared to have been stolen.

 

October 21

 

Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown broke an upstairs

window and stole a fish pond pump from a home in the 32400

block of Nautilus Drive.

 

October 22

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown broke the

window of a vehicle in the 2100 block of Redondela Drive and

stole a wallet.

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - Person(s) unknown forced a car door

open and stole numerous CD's and a backpack in the 27600

block of Eldena Drive.

 

Commercial Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown forced

open a screen door and kicked in an office door of a business

in the 31100 block of Hawthorne Boulevard. A safe containing

U.S. currency was stolen.

 

Grand Theft - The victim reported that between September 8

and October 19, 1997, person(s) unknown stole jewelry from a

home in the 3300 block of Seaclaire Drive. There was no sign

of forced entry.

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a camera

and a cellular phone from a vehicle in the 27600 block of

Eldena Drive. Entry was apparently gained through an

unlocked door.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole

jewelry and passports from a home in the 27000 block of

Silver Moon Lane. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole a

football card from a home in the 26600 block of Hawkhurst

Street. Entry was gained by breaking a window.

 

Armed Robbery (nighttime) - A male suspect, armed with what

appeared to be a handgun, struck a female victim and forced

her to give him her purse in the 30000 block of Rhone Drive.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown gained entry

through a partially open window of a vehicle in the 2000

block of Avenida Feliciano and stole a cellular phone and

charger.

 

October 23

 

Grand Theft, Auto - (nighttime) - A 1979 Chevrolet El Camino

was stolen from the 29800 block of Western Avenue.

 

October 24

 

Grand Theft - The victim reported that between July and

October, 1997, person(s) unknown stole numerous items from a

home in the 32000 block of Via Palacio. There was no sign of

forced entry.

 

October 25

 

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window

and stole a purse and wallet from a vehicle in the 29000

block of Palos Verdes Drive East.
