CRIME SUMMARY
Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos
Verdes included one commercial burglary, fourteen residential
burglaries, two vehicle burglaries, two other structure
burglaries, one grand theft, auto, one attempted grand theft,
auto, one petty theft, one mail theft, and three acts of
vandalism.

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - A male suspect
damaged the steering column of a pickup in an attempt to
steal the vehicle in the 1900 block of Homeworth Drive.
Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - A 1987 GMC Suburban was
stolen from the 1300 block of Mount Rainer Road.
October 13
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a
window and stole a picture frame from a home on Diamonte
Lane.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown removed
louvered window panes and entered a home in the 2600 block of
Sunnyside Ridge Road. Numerous items of jewelry were stolen.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown removed a
window and entered a home in the 2600 block of Sunnyside
Ridge Road. Numerous items of jewelry were stolen.
October 14
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke the
glass of a sliding door of a home in the 29300 block of
Northbay Road and stole a stereo and a flute.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole
jewelry from a home in the 5300 block of Middlecrest Road.
Entry was gained through a window.
October 15
Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown
stole a telephone/answering machine from a trailer at a
construction site in the 30000 block of Highridge Road.
Entry was made through an unlocked window.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole
jewelry U.S. and foreign currency from a home in the 5300
block of Littlebow Road. Entry was gained through an open
window.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole a
bicycle from the unlocked garage of a home in the 28500 block
of Bearhaven Court.
October 16
Residential Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole
two bicycles from an open garage of a home in the 6900 block
of Grovespring Drive.
Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown stole a bedroom set
from a home in the 30500 block of Palos Verdes Drive East.
Entry was gained through an unlocked garage door.
Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window
and stole a car stereo from a car in the 26700 block of
Sliver Spur Road.
October 17
Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown
forced a garage door open and stole golf equipment from a
home in the 32600 block of Shire Oaks Drive.
Residential Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown climbed
in an open window and ransacked a home in the 29400 block of
Whitley Collins Drive. It was unknown at the time of this
report if anything was taken.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown pried a
garage door open of a home in the 6500 block of Nancy Drive.
The suspects apparently fled after setting off the alarm
system.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown entered an
open window and stole a camera from a home in the 29300 block
of Quailwood Drive.
Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown stole golf
equipment and a camera from a locked vehicle in the 6500
block of Via Colinita. There was no sign of forced entry.
Commercial Burglary (nighttime) - Two male suspects were
arrested after stealing cases of beer from a store in the
28500 block of Western Avenue.
Residential Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown stole a
bicycle from an open garage in the 28712 block of Mount
Sawtooth Drive.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole
jewelry and a ceramic pot from a home in the 29200 block of
Whitley Collins Drive. Entry was gained by breaking the
glass of a sliding door.
