Weekly Activity Report, August 3 - August 9, 1997

 

 

CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included one strong-armed armed robbery, one

commercial burglary, one residential burglary, six vehicle

burglaries, two other structure burglaries, two grand thefts,

auto, one grand theft, one petty theft, and nine acts of

vandalism.

 

 

ARRESTS

Drunk Driving - 1 Grand Theft, Auto - 1

 

 

August 3

 

Residential Burglary (morning) - A male suspect stole

a fishing rod and a suitcase from the garage of a home in the

1900 block of MacArthur Drive. Entry was gained by lifting

the garage door.

 

August 6

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - A lady's purse was stolen from a

home in the 28600 block of Vista Madera. There was no sign

of forced entry.

 

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - A male suspect attempted to

steal a cellular phone from a locked car in the 32600 block

of Seagate Drive. There was no sign of forced entry. The

suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle.

 

Strong-armed Robbery (evening) - A male suspect forcibly

removed two necklaces from the neck of a male victim in the

28000 block of Hawthorne Boulevard. The suspect ran to an

awaiting brown Ford Bronco and drove away southbound.

 

Commercial Burglary (nighttime) - A male suspect stole a case

of beer from a store in the 29100 block of Western Avenue.

The suspect ran to a waiting green Ford Probe and drove away.

 

August 7

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window and stole a backpack from a vehicle in the 1800 block

of Bloomwood Road.

 

August 8

 

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window to gain entry to a car in the 4900 block of Delacroix

Road. It was unknown at the time of this report if anything

was taken.

 

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1993 Acura Integra was

stolen from the 30300 block of Avenida De Calma.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window to gain entry to a car in the 4800 block of Elkridge

Drive. It was unknown at the time of this report if anything

was taken.

 

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window to gain entry to a car in the 27700 block of Longhill

Drive. It was unknown at the time of this report if anything

was taken.

 

Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

broke a window of a room at a synagogue in the 5700 block of

Crestridge Road and stole cartons of ice cream.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown broke the

window of a van in the 4700 block of Browndeer Lane and stole

U.S. currency and a book.

 

Other Structure Burglary - The victim reported that between

July 25 and August 8, 1997, person(s) unknown stole numerous

items from her garage in the 5700 block of Ironwood Street.

There was no sign of forced entry.
