Weekly Activity Report, June 29 - July 12, 1997

 

Note: this is a special report covering two weeks due to vacations at the Sheriff's office in Lomita

CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported these past two weeks in the City of Rancho

Palos Verdes included three residential burglaries, seven

vehicle burglaries, one other structure burglary, three grand

thefts, auto, two grand thefts, one act of arson, and three

acts of vandalism.

June 29

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window to gain entry to a home in the 32000 block of Pacifica

Drive. It was unknown at the time of this report if anything

was stolen.

 

June 30

 

Grand Theft (daytime) - Fire Fighter equipment was stolen

from a fire truck in a parking lot in the 28900 block of

Western Avenue.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a

woman's purse from a vehicle in a parking lot in the 7000

block of Los Verdes Drive. Entry was made by breaking a

window.

 

July 2

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a

satchel from a vehicle in a parking lot in the 7000 block of

Los Verdes Drive. Entry was made by breaking a window.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a

briefcase from a vehicle in a parking lot in the 7000 block

of Los Verdes Drive. Entry was made by breaking a window.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a

briefcase from a van in a parking lot in the 7000 block of

Los Verdes Drive. Entry was made by breaking a window.

 

 

July 3

 

Arson (daytime) - Person(s) unknown started a brush fire in

an open field at Paseo Del Mar and Forrestal Drive.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a

briefcase and a two-way radio from a locked car in the 5700

block of Ravenspur Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - Jewelry and U.S. currency were

stolen from a home in the 1200 block of Bloomwood Drive.

There was no sign of forced entry.

 

July 7

 

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1995 BMW motorcycle was

stolen from a parking lot in the 28900 block of Western

Avenue.

 

July 8

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window of a home in the 1800 block of Peninsula Verde Drive

to gain entry. An alarm was set off and nothing appeared to

have been taken.

 

July 9

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - A clarinet was stolen from a

home in the 2000 block of Summerland Street. A door was

kicked in to gain entry.

 

July 10

 

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - A male suspect was arrested

after being seen driving a stolen car (1991 Honda,4dr) at

Hawthorne Boulevard and Grayslake Road.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Miscellaneous items were

stolen from a locked car in the 26900 block of Grayslake

Road. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - A 1992 Dodge Van was stolen

from the 27900 block of Longhill Drive.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a key

chain and water jug from a locked vehicle in the 4900 block

of Golden Arrow Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

July 11

 

Other Structure Burglary - Person(s) unknown stole numerous

tools from the garage of a home in the 28500 block of Bear

Haven Court. There was no sign of forced entry.
