Weekly Activity Report, June 8 - June 14, 1997

CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included one commercial burglary, six residential

burglaries, two vehicle burglaries, one grand theft, auto,

one attempted grand theft, auto, three grand thefts, one

petty theft, one act of arson, and three acts of vandalism.

 

 

ARRESTS

 

Burglary - 1 Drunk Driving - 1

 

 

June 8

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - The victim reported that

numerous items of jewelry were stolen from her home on Packet

Road. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

June 10

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke the

glass in a sliding glass door to gain entry to a home on

Packet Road. Jewelry, U.S. currency, and coins were stolen.

 

June 11

 

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1994 Ford Escort was stolen

from the 2000 block of Trudie Drive.

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole jewelry and

U.S. currency from a lady's purse at a home on Avenida

Corona.

 

June 12

 

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

damaged the steering column of a vehicle in the 2000 block of

Elberon Street in an attempt to steal the vehicle.

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window of a car in the 28500 block of Western Avenue.

Nothing appeared to have been taken.

Arson (daytime) - Person(s) unknown used an incendiary device

to start a fire on a hillside behind a home on Seashell Way.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole

numerous items of jewelry from an apartment in the 32700

block of Seagate Drive. Entry was gained by prying the front

door.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole

numerous items of jewelry from an apartment in the 32600

block of Seagate Drive. Entry was gained by prying the front

door.

 

June 13

 

Grand Theft (evening) - Person(s) unknown stole a set of golf

clubs from the sidewalk outside a restroom at the golf course

on Los Verdes Drive.

 

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke the

window of a car in the 30800 block of Palos Verdes Drive East

and stole a lady's purse.

 

Commercial Burglary (daytime) - A male suspect was arrested

after stealing numerous items from two businesses in the

28900 Block of Western Avenue.

 

Residential Burglary - Person(s) unknown pried open the

sliding glass door of a condominium in the 3200 block of La

Rotunda. It was unknown if anything was stolen at the time

of this report.

 

June 14

 

Residential Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown stole

numerous items and U.S. currency from a condominium in the

3200 block of La Rotunda. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

Grand Theft - The victim reported that U.S. currency was

stolen from an apartment in the 32600 block of Seagate Drive.

There was no sign of forced entry.
