Weekly Activity Report, May 3 - May 10, 1997



CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included one residential burglary, four vehicle

burglaries, one attempted vehicle burglary, two grand thefts,

auto, two attempted grand thefts, auto, one petty theft, one

theft of U.S. mail, and two acts of vandalism.

ARRESTS

Drunk Driving - 1 Vehicle Laws - 3

Grand Theft, Auto - 1

May 4

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1987 Jeep Cherokee was

stolen from the street in the 28700 block of Mount Sawtooth

Drive.

May 5

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown broke a door

lock of a car in a subterranean garage in the 5700 block of

Ravenspur Drive. A stereo, a speaker, and amplifiers were

stolen.

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - A stereo face plate was stolen

from a car in an underground garage in the 5700 block of

Ravenspur Drive by person(s) unknown. There was no sign of

forced entry.

Attempted Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

attempted to pry open the door of a car parked in the 5700

block of Ravenspur Drive.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Persian rugs, U.S. currency,

and other valuables were stolen from a residence in the 6400

block of Via Colinita person(s) unknown. There were no signs

of forced entry.

May 6

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

smashed a window and damaged the ignition assembly in an

attempt to steal a car in a driveway in the 29500 block of

Enrose Avenue.

May 8

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - A male suspect was arrested

at Eastview Park after deputies discovered that the 1987 Ford

Escort he was driving had been stolen.

May 9

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - The window of a

vehicle parked in a driveway in the 30800 block of Rue de la

Pierre was broken and the steering column damaged in an

attempt to steal it the car. A computer, a printer, and

briefcases were stolen.

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown stole a

T-top roof and a car radio from a locked vehicle parked at

the curb in the 28500 block of Radbrook Court. There was no

sign of forced entry.

May 10

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - A car stereo system was stolen

from a locked car parked on the street in the 28500 block of

Radbrook Court. There was no sign of forced entry.
