Weekly Activity Report, April 20 - April 26, 1997

CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included four residential burglaries, one attempted

residential burglary, five vehicle burglaries, one other

structure burglary, two grand thefts, auto, one attempted

grand theft, auto, one grand theft, one petty theft, one

theft of U.S. mail and one act of vandalism.

ARRESTS

Drunk Driving - 2 Vehicle Laws - 1

April 20

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown entered a

home through an unlocked garage door in the 1200 block of Mt.

Rainer Road. A 1996 Mazda pickup, a television and a

computer were stolen.

April 21

Other Structure Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown

entered a garage through an unlocked door in the 30000 block

of Via Borica and stole a 1996 Honda Accord.

April 22

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

forced open a window of a car in the 29900 block of Knoll

View Drive in an attempt to steal the vehicle. The suspect

was apparently scared off by the car alarm.

Grand Theft, Auto - A 1984 Lexus LX450 was stolen from a

driveway in the 6700 block of King Harbor Drive.

Grand Theft - The victim reported that person(s) stole

jewelry from her home on Cherry Hill Lane. There was no sign

of forced entry.

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - A male suspect broke a window of

a car in a parking lot in the 28900 block of Northbay Road.

A backpack and purse were stolen.

April 23

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1996 Cadillac Coupe Deville

was stolen from a driveway in the 27800 block of Avenida

Cuaderno.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole a

mink coat and a silverware set from a home on Mustang Road.

Entry was gained by removing louver window panes from a rear

door.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole

silverware sets and jewelry from a residence in the 30100

block of Rhone Drive. Entry was gained by cutting the screen

on a window.

Attempted Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown

broke a window and attempted to pry open a door on a home in

the 32400 block of Conqueror Drive.

April 24

Vehicle Burglary - Person(s) unknown pried open a door of a

car in a garage in the 3200 block of La Rotunda Drive and

attempted to steal the rear brake light.

April 25

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown shattered the

window of a vehicle in a parking lot in the 28900 block of

Northbay Road. A women's purse was taken.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole U.S.

currency and credit cards from a home on Stirrup Lane. Entry

was made through on unlocked door.

April 26

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window

of a car in a parking lot of a park in the 30300 block of

Hawthorne Boulevard and stole bank bag containing U.S.

currency.

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - A purse, a wallet and car

speakers were stolen from a car in a parking lot of a park in

the 30300 block of Hawthorne Boulevard. Entry was gained by

breaking a window.
