Weekly Activity Report, April 13 - April 19, 1997

CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included one armed robbery, three residential

burglaries, four vehicle burglaries, one felonious assault,

three grand thefts, auto, one attempted grand theft, auto,

one grand theft, two petty thefts, and one act of vandalism.

ARRESTS

Felonious Assault - 1 Narcotics Laws - 1

April 13

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown entered a

locked vehicle parked in the street in the 27600 block of

Avenida Del Mesa and stole a back pack, tennis racket, and

briefcase. There were no signs of forced entry.

Grand Theft, Auto - A 1984 Toyota pickup was stolen from a

driveway in the 4200 block of Palos Verdes Drive East.

April 14

Felonious Assault (nighttime) - A male suspect was arrested

after punching and kicking a male victim in the 6600 block of

Via Canada.

April 15

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1996 Lexus LX450 was stolen

from a driveway in the 6900 block of Abbottswood Drive.

Grand Theft - A tool box and tools were stolen from a truck

parked in the 27900 block of Palos Verdes Drive East.

April 16

Residential Burglary - A stereo system, a VCR, and an air

compressor were stolen from a residence in the 2800 block of

Colt Road. Entry was made through a sliding glass door.

April 17

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - A 1990 GMC truck was stolen

from the street in the 28400 block of Ponte Verde Drive.

Armed Robbery (daytime) - Two male suspects invaded a

residence in the 3300 block of Palo Vista Drive and hit and

kicked the housekeeper. The suspects used a stun gun, then

stole handguns before leaving the housekeeper barricaded in

the laundry room.

Residential Burglary (evening) - Two male suspects entered a

residence in the 5900 block of Mossbank Road through a rear

window and ransacked it. A female victim returned to the

house while the suspects were inside and was sprayed with a

chemical.

April 18

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - The steering column

of a locked Jeep Cherokee parked in the 29200 block of

Trotwood Avenue was broken, and a car stereo was stolen.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown entered a

residence in the 27900 block of Amber Gate Drive through an

unlocked sliding glass door. A stereo unit, VCR, and a

portable radio were stolen.

Vehicle Burglary - A car stereo, speakers, and amplifier were

stolen from a locked car parked on the street in the 2000

block of Trudie Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window

of a car parked in the 32200 block of Forrestal Drive and

stole a cellular phone and a blood pressure monitor.

April 19

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - U.S. currency was stolen from a

car parked in the 32200 block of Forrestal Drive by person(s)

unknown. A window was broken to gain entry.

mail at the curb and promptly remove mail from mailboxes.

Keep a watchful eye for strangers in the neighborhood and call

the sheriff's office upon suspicion. Know your Neighborhood
