Weekly Activity Report, February 9 - February 15, 1997


CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes

included one armed robbery, three residential burglaries, one attempted

residential burglary, one school burglary, one vehicle burglary, one

attempted vehicle burglary, one other structure burglary, five grand

thefts, auto, one attempted grand theft, auto, three grand thefts,

three petty thefts and three acts of vandalism.

February 9

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown entered a residence

in the 29600 block of Stonecrest Drive through a bathroom window and

stole a computer, word processor, stereo, television, camera, and

watch.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Jewelry was stolen from a residence in

the 29100 block of Oceanridge Drive by person(s) unknown. There were

no signs of forced entry.

School Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown entered a second floor

classroom of a school in the 28800 block of Western Avenue and removed

electronic equipment. Entry was gained by removing a window screen.

Other Structure Burglary - Fishing equipment was stolen from a storage

locker in the 32700 block of Seagate Drive. There were no signs of

forced entry.

February 10

Grand Theft - A car radio and equalizer were stolen from an unlocked

car in the 27500 block of Elmbridge Drive. There were no signs of

forced entry.

February 11

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1991 Cadillac was stolen from a

garage in the 1800 block of Caddington Drive.

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1995 Toyota was stolen from a

driveway in the 7000 block of Crest Road.

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1991 Toyota was stolen from a

driveway in the 7000 block of Crest Road.

Attempted Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown attempted to

enter a car parked in the 32600 block of Coastsite Drive by prying open

a window.

Grand Theft (nighttime) - Chrome hubcaps were stolen from a car in a

parking garage in the 32600 block of Coastsite Drive.

Armed Robbery (nighttime) - A female victim was robbed of her purse

by a male suspect armed with a handgun at Hawthorne Boulevard and

Blackhorse Road. The victim had accepted a ride to a gas station from

the suspect.

Grand Theft, Auto - A 1991 Cadillac was stolen from a garage in the

1800 block of Caddington Drive.

February 12

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown smashed a

window and broke the steering column and ignition assembly of a car

parked in the 1900 block of Toscanini Drive.

February 13

Grand Theft (overnight) - A cellular phone, adaptor, and compact disc

changer were stolen from a car parked in the 32600 block of Seagate

Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

February 14

Residential Burglary (nighttime) - A window was damaged to gain entry

to a residence in the 26700 block of Indian Peak Road by person(s)

unknown. Nothing was apparently taken.

February 15

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - A CD changer and luggage were stolen

from a car in a parking garage in the 28100 block of Peacock Ridge

Road. There was no sign of forced entry.

Grand Theft, Auto (daytime) - A 1980 Toyota was stolen from curbside in

the 27800 block of Pontevedra Drive.

Attempted Residential Burglary (daytime) - A screen was torn and a

window broken in a residence in the 6900 block of Starstone Drive.

Nothing was taken.

mail at the curb and promptly remove mail from mailboxes.

Keep a watchful eye for strangers in the neighborhood and call

the sheriff's office upon suspicion. Know your Neighborhood
