CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included three commercial burglaries, five residential

burglaries, one school burglary, one attempted vehicle

burglary, one felonious assault, two grand thefts, and two

petty thefts.

 

 

ARRESTS

 

Vehicle Laws - 2 Felonious Assault - 1

 

 

May 24

 

School Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown entered an

unlocked auditorium and attempted to pry open a door of a

room inside of a school in the 28000 block of Montereina

Drive.

 

Attempted Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

damaged a window of a car in the 26800 block of Springcreek

Road in an attempt to enter the car.

 

May 25

 

Residential Burglary - The victim reported that between May

19 and May 22, 1998, person(s) unknown stole three furs and

silverware from her home in the 5600 block of Sunmist Drive.

There was no sign of forced entry.

 

May 26

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown forced a

door of a home open in the 6400 block of Seabryn Drive. It

was unknown at the time of this report if anything was

stolen.

 

Commercial Burglary (daytime) - A male suspect cashed a

stolen check at a bank in the 28300 block of Western Avenue.

 

May 27

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole a

video recorder and a "kareoke" player from a home in the

26300 block of Birchfield Avenue. There was no sign of

forced entry.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole

jewelry from a home in the 5900 block of Finecrest Drive.

Entry was gained through an open window.

 

Grand Theft (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole U.S. currency

from a home in the 5400 block of Diversey Drive. There was

no sign of forced entry.

 

May 28

 

Felonious Assault (daytime) - A male suspect was arrested

after hitting a male victim in the eye with a hard object at

a home in the 2600 block of Colt Road.

 

May 29

 

Commercial Burglary (daytime) - A male suspect stole

cigarettes from a store in Miraleste Plaza.

 

May 30

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole the tires

and wheels from a car in a parking structure in the 32700

block of Seagate Drive.

 

Residential Burglary (evening) - Person(s) unknown broke a

door lock and stole U.S. currency and coins from a home in

the 28200 block of Trailriders Drive.

 

Commercial Burglary (nighttime) - Two male suspects stole

beer from a market in the 28000 block of Hawthorne Boulevard.
