CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included eight residential burglaries, two vehicle

burglaries, three other structure burglaries, one attempted

other structure burglary, one felonious assault, three grand

thefts, auto, and one act of vandalism.

 

 

ARRESTS

 

Vehicle Laws - 2 Grand Theft, Auto - 1

March 1

 

Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown pried a

window of a vehicle in a parking lot in the 30800 block of

Palos Verdes drive East and stole a car stereo.

 

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - A 1987 Honda Prelude was

stolen from Locklenna Lane and Driftwood Drive.

 

March 2

 

Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

stole a bicycle from a garage in the 2000 block of Dorado

Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

Residential Burglary - The victim reported that between

February 21 and February 26, 1998, person(s) unknown stole a

tape recorder and knifes from a home in the 4500 block of

Palos Verdes Drive South. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

March 3

 

Attempted Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s)

unknown attempted to pry a door lock of the kitchen of a

church in the 5600 block of Crestridge Road.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown removed a

screen and stole electronic equipment from a home in the

28700 block of Blythewood Drive.

 

Residential Burglary - The victim reported that between

February 1 and February 17, 1998, person(s) unknown stole a

 

generator from the garage of a home in the 30400 block of Via

Cameron. There was no sign of forced entry.

March 4

 

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - Two male suspects were

arrested after being seen in a stolen car in the 5000 Block

of Palos Verdes Drive North.

 

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1980 Datsun 280ZX was

stolen from a parking lot in the 1800 block of Caddington

Drive.

 

March 5

 

Residential Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown opened

an unlatched window and stole kitchen appliances and a sink

from a home on Albero Court.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window and stole camera equipment and currency from a home in

the 27100 block of Shorewood Road.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown entered a

home through an unlocked door and ransacked a bedroom. It

was unknown if anything was taken at the time of this report.

 

March 6

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - A male suspect broke a rear

window and entered a home in the 6900 block of Vallon Drive.

The victim was at home and surprised the suspect. The

suspect fled in a waiting black car.

 

Felonious Assault (nighttime) - A male suspect threw a beer

bottle at a female victim while she was sitting on a porch in

the 5600 block of Ravenspur Drive.

 

March 7

 

Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

pried the door of a storage locker in a parking lot in the

3200 block of La Rotunda Drive. It was unknown if anything

was taken at the time of this report.

 

Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

pried the door of a storage locker in a parking lot in the

3200 block of La Rotunda Drive and stole cases of soda.

 

Vehicle Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown pried open a

window of a car in the 28600 block of Mount Whitney and stole

a CD player.

 

Residential Burglary - The victim reported that between

February 24 and March 7, 1998, person(s) unknown stole a

bicycle from the garage of a home in the 6200 block of

Picardie Road. There was no sign of forced entry.
