CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included one armed robbery, three residential

burglaries, one attempted vehicle burglary, one other

structure burglary, one attempted grand theft, auto, two

grand thefts, and two petty thefts.

 

 

ARRESTS

 

Vehicle Laws - 4 Drunk Driving - 1

Robbery - 1

 

 

February 15

 

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

broke the steering wheel of a vehicle in the 1700 block of

Toscanini Drive in an attempt to steal the car.

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - The victim reported that between

December 14, 1997 and February 15, 1998, person(s) unknown

stole paint ball gun equipment from a home in the 2400 block

of Rue Le Charlene. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

Grand Theft - The victim reported that between January 1 and

February 15, 1998, person(s) unknown stole a handgun from the

garage of his home in the 1900 block of Upland Street. There

was no sign of forced entry.

 

February 16

 

Attempted Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown

damaged the door handle of a pickup in the 1700 block of

Thistlewood Way in an attempt to enter the vehicle.

 

February 17

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window and stole U.S. currency from a home in the 6600 block

of Locklenna Lane.

 

 

February 20

 

Residential Burglary (overnight) - Person unknown entered an

unlocked garage window and ransacked a home in the 28600

block of Rothrock Drive. It was unknown at the time of this

report if anything was taken.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole U.S.

currency and jewelry from a home in the 29600 block of Island

View Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.

 

Armed Robbery (daytime) - A male suspect, armed with a

handgun, stole a handgun and a guitar from a male victim at a

home in the 7300 block of Via Lorado. The suspect's identity

was known to the victim and the suspect was arrested a short

time later in the city of Lomita.

 

February 21

 

Other Structure Burglary - The victim reported that between

January 3 and February 21, 1998, person(s) unknown stole

drapes from a storage compartment in the 6700 block of Los

Verdes Drive. Entry was gained by removing the padlock.
