CRIME SUMMARY

 

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos

Verdes included four residential burglaries, one vehicle

burglary, one felonious assault, three grand thefts, auto,

one attempted grand theft, auto, two grand thefts, two petty

thefts, three thefts of U.S. mail, and two acts of

vandalism.

 

 

ARRESTS

 

Vehicle Laws - 3 Drunk Driving - 1

Narcotics Laws - 1 Spousal Assault - 1

Burglary - 1

 

 

February 8

 

Grand Theft (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole wallet and

CD's from an unlocked car on Saddle Road.

 

February 10

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a

window and stole a laptop computer and U.S. coins from a home

in the 26900 block of Basswood Avenue.

 

Grand Theft, Auto (overnight) - A 1996 Pontiac Sunfire was

stolen from the 3300 block of Palo Vista Drive.

 

February 11

 

Felonious Assault (daytime) - A female student stabbed

another student in her forehead with a pencil at a school in

the 28000 block of Montereina Drive.

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole

electronic equipment and a 1971 Volkswagon from a home on

Mustang Road. There was no sign of forced entry. The car

was found a short distance away.

 

February 12

 

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown stole U.S.

currency from a home in the 6700 block of Los Verdes Drive.

Entry was gained through an unlocked door.

 

Residential Burglary (evening) - A male suspect pried a door

to gain entry to a home on Mustang Road. The suspect was

later arrested a short distance away.

 

Grand Theft, Auto (daytime) - A 1987 Toyota Corolla was

stolen from the 5700 block of Palos Verdes Drive South.

 

February 14

 

Attempted Grand Theft, Auto - Person(s) unknown attempted to

steal a Pontiac Sunfire in the 3300 Palo Vista Drive.

 

Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window

and stole a car stereo system and U.S. currency from a car in

the 28500 block of Western Avenue.

 

Grand Theft - The victim reported that between February 4 and

February 10, 1998, person(s) unknown cut a lock and stole an

air compressor from the 27800 block of Western Avenue.

 

Grand Theft, Auto (nighttime) - Two male suspects stole a

1986 GMC Suburban from the 1900 block of Peninsula Verde

Drive.
