CRIME SUMMARY

Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes included three commercial burglaries, two residential burglaries, one felonious assault, two grand thefts (auto), two grand thefts, two petty thefts, one mail theft and four acts of vandalism.

January 17

Grand Theft - A victim reported that between September, 1999 and January 3, 2000, person(s) unknown stole numerous items from her home on Stallion Road. There was no sign of forced entry.

Grand Theft (evening) - Person(s) unknown stole numerous items from an unlocked vehicle in a driveway in the 2900 block of Crownview Drive.

January 20

Commercial Burglary (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown forced a door open and stole golf equipment from the golf shop in the 7000 block of Los Verdes Drive.

January 21

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown pried a door open and stole numerous items from a home in the 26800 block of Basswood Avenue.

Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window and stole jewelry from a home in the 5900 block of Flambeau Road.

Commercial Burglary (daytime) - A male suspect was arrested after stealing numerous items from a supermarket in the 28500 block of Western Avenue.

Grand Theft (auto) (overnight) - A 1998 Ford van was stolen from a parking lot in the 6500 block of Oceancrest Drive.

January 22

Grand Theft (auto) (overnight) - A 1998 Ford Escort was stolen from a parking lot in the 28900 block of Western Avenue.

Felonious Assault (daytime) - A male suspect, armed with a knife, was arrested after threatening a deputy at a home on Vanderlip Drive.

Commercial Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown pried a door open and stole a safe containing U.S. currency from a business in the 29000 block of Western Avenue.
