Crimes reported this past week in the City of Rancho Palos Verdes included one commercial burglary, two residential burglaries, one attempt residential burglary, two vehicle burglaries, one other structure burglary, one grand theft (auto), one grand theft, five petty thefts, two mail thefts and one act of arson.

Arson (nighttime) - Person(s) unknown set a car cover on fire and damaged a vehicle in a driveway in the 29400 block of Bayend Drive.
January 3
Other Structure Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole three bicycles from an underground garage of an apartment building in the 28100 block of Peacock Ridge Road.
Commercial Burglary - A victim reported that between December 15th and December 29th, person(s) unknown stole computer equipment from an office of a business in the 3800 block of Crest Road.
January 4
Residential Burglary - A victim reported that between December 21, 1999 and January 3, 2000, person(s) unknown stole jewelry and U.S. currency from her home in the 6500 block of Eddinghill Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.
Residential Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown forced a window open and stole jewelry from a home in the 29500 block of Baycrest Drive.
Vehicle Burglary (overnight) - Person(s) unknown stole a car stereo and CD's from a locked car n a parking lot in the 6700 block of Los Verdes Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.
January 7
Grand Theft - A victim reported that between August 1, 1999 and January 7, 2000, person(s) unknown stole a handgun from a home in the 2400 block of Daladier Drive. There was no sign of forced entry.
Grand Theft (auto) (overnight) - A 1997 GMC Savana was stolen from the 4000 block of Lorraine Road.
January 8
Vehicle Burglary (daytime) - Person(s) unknown broke a window and stole a woman's purse from a car in a parking lot of a park in the 30300 block of Hawthorne Boulevard.
Attempt Residential Burglary - A victim reported that between December 20, 1999 and January 8, 2000, person(s) unknown damaged a window screen in an attempt to enter a home in the 6500 block of Sandypoint Court.
