Flight Controls.......We have talked about how the pilot gets the airplane up in the air by creating lift. Once in the air he needs to have control of the airplane to go right or left and up or down.. He does this by the use of control surfaces. These are the rudder and ailerons for turning right and left and the elevator for going up and down. They work in the same way as the rudder on a boat.
