- The opening concert of the season was dedicated to the memory of Past Presidents Barry Lamont and Eugene Feingold.
1999
- Dean of Los Angeles Times' Music writers Daniel Cariaga honors South Bay Chamber Music Society by selecting it as
one of his favorite series in the October 14 article "Listen Close -- An aficionado's guide to the intimate, small-venue art
form of chamber music."
- Board Member Scott Pinsky's suggestion to make CDs by musicians presented by the SBCMS available for purchase lead
Jim Eninger to add Marketplace to our website.
- The South Bay Chamber Music Society and the Torrance Unified School
District co-sponsor two outreach programs by the
Kipnis-Kushner Duo at
Calle Mayor Middle School on May 4. Based in New York, the pianists
Igor Kipnis and
Karen Kushner
, who performed for the Spring Patrons'
Concert on May 1, presented their highly acclaimed student outreach
program in Mrs. Betty Jo Ravitz's orchestra room to a total of over 100
lucky students.
- Website Update Project completed in June 1999.
- We began adding links from musicians and composers on our website to their
biographies on the World Wide Web.
- Len Marabella was elected President for a second time.
- The music committee takes advantage of the dual-venue format by engaging Los Angeles Philharmonic principal cellist
Ronald Leonard and USC-music-faculty concert pianist

to perform Beethoven's complete works for
cello and piano spanning both concerts opening the 1999-2000 season.
1998
- Board of Directors adopts new "Dual-Venue Format" proposed by Jim Eninger starting with the 1998/99 Season. In
response to the increasing popularity of the series, the Board of Directors decided that each Friday-evening concert at
Harbor College will be presented again on Sunday afternoon at the Pacific Unitarian Church in Rancho Palos Verdes. The
new format gives the audience a choice of two excellent concert sites and times, and alleviates overcrowding in the Harbor
College Recital Hall.
- We began the Website Update Project, where a team of dedicated volunteers led by Jim Eninger and Bob Margulies
set out to transcribe, index, and convert to html the programs of all past seasons.

- Len Marabella was elected President.
- "Our History" booklet added to the web site.
- Started including "Critics' Choices of Recordings" of the pieces in the concert programs.
- The Print Network joins our Corporate Sponsors and donates printing of upgraded concert programs with gold logo on
deluxe cover stock.

- Erwin Fishman was President.
- Under Erwin Fishman's leadership, we moved our concerts to the Recital Hall of Los Angeles Harbor College.

- George Andrews was elected President.

- Robert Miller was elected President a second time.

- Margaret Kendziorek was elected President.

- Robert Miller was elected President.

- Sidney Stafford accepted the Presidency a second time.

- Charlene Steen was elected President.
- We started a new format: free concerts at the Palos Verdes Peninsula Center Library Music Room.

- Thomas Wilson was elected President.
- We moved our concerts to El Camino College Auditorium.
1966
- Helen Karr was elected President.
- We moved our concerts to Mira Costa High School Auditorium.
1965
- Sidney Stafford became President for the first time.
- We moved to Redondo Beach High School Auditorium and became incorporated as a nonprofit corporation.
1964
- Our first concerts at the Torrance Recreation Center, then the Redondo Beach Women's Club.
