Subsequent to receiving her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, she completed a one-year internship at West Los Angeles Animal Hospital. In 1990, Dr. Jones joined the staff at Wilshire Animal Hospital in Santa Monica. During the following nine years, she worked with not only dogs and cats but also a wide variety of small animals, including birds, reptiles, rabbits, "pocket pets," and pot bellied pigs.

In 1999, Dr. Jones began working at Bay Animal Hospital in Manhattan Beach. She left that Hospital in order to open her own practice, the Point Vicente Animal Hospital.

In 1995, while working in Santa Monica, Dr. Jones became a member of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP). What does that mean? Dr. Jones underwent a difficult process of additional study and examination to become a Board Certified Specialist in the care and treatment of dogs and cats. As an ABVP Diplomate, it is accepted that she has proven knowledge and expertise above and beyond what is required to practice veterinary medicine. It also means that your pets are receiving expert treatment and a strong commitment to providing the best possible care to animals in need.

Equally concerned about enhancing the quality of care for all animals, Dr. Jones has been and continues to be involved in numerous professional organizations. She is a Past President of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Association and served four years as a Veterinary Medical Board Hospital Inspector for the California Department of Consumer Affairs. In addition, Dr. Jones has held numerous positions with both the California and American Veterinary Medical Associations and continues today as a District Governor to the CVMA.
